| C.V. Jen joined the SBCC Bio Department faculty in 2005, and currently teaches General Biology, Plant Biology, Natural History, and Evolution & Adaptation. Her research background is primarily in behavioral ecology of spiders. During completion of her Bachelor’s degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (EEB) at the University of Tennessee, she conducted research on fear and aggression in grass spiders, as well as foraging and mating behavior of orb-weavers. She earned a PhD in EEB from Princeton University, studying the fitness consequences of polyandry in the banded garden spider, Argiope trifasciata. Jen spent the 2016-17 academic year on sabbatical, studying various aspects of local
