John Connelly

Connelly is an independent curator and consultant based in Santa Barbara since 2014. He previously held the role of Director of The Felix Gonzalez-Torres Foundation in New York City, where he led educational and archival efforts in support of the Foundation's mission to foster appreciation and study of the works of Gonzalez-Torres among scholars and the general public. He ran the art gallery John Connelly Presents in New York City for 10 years and was the director at Andrea Rosen Gallery from 1994 through 2002. He co-founded the New Art Dealer’s Alliance (NADA) to support and encourage collaboration among his fellow arts professionals. He is also a co-founder of High Desert Test Sites (HDTS), the experimental exhibition platform based in Joshua Tree, CA.

Stephanie Dotson's work explores disruption of pattern as it relates to both spatial and psychological transformation and meditations on domestic and creative labor. Recent exhibitions include the ca53776v2.gallery, Beta Epochs, the Architectural Fund of Santa Barbara, Tiger Strikes Asteroid, the ArtsFund, Westmont Ridley Tree Museum of Art and UCSB's College of Creative Studies. Her work has been included in solo and two person exhibits in Ventura, Kansas City, New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia. Dotson was recently featured in LUM art magazine. She received Joan Mitchell fellowships for her artist residencies at The Vermont Studio Center and the Atlantic Center for the Arts, she also completed an artist residency at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art. Dotson is a former member of the LA branch of the artist-run gallery Tiger Strikes Asteroid. Dotson currently resides in Santa Barbara. When not teaching she can be found working in her art studio in downtown Carpinteria.

Joy Kunz teaches general and honors courses in art history. Areas of specialization are European Renaissance, Nineteenth Century French Art, and 20th century Modernism. Her Master's Degree thesis focused on Iconography in Northern Renaissance Art, and her Ph.D. dissertation focused on New York School Abstract Expressionism.  Her methodological focus in teaching art history is contextual and is informed by history, religion, sociology, politics, philosophy and literature.

Armando Ramos is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the Frey Foundation, the Red Lodge Clay Center Red Lodge, Montana and the Vermont Studio Center.  His work has been shown at Grand Rapids Museum of Art Grand Rapids, Michigan as part of Art Prize Seven; The Zanesville Museum of Art in Zanesville, Ohio; The Clay Studio Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; The Oakland Museum, Oakland, California and The North Dakota Museum of Art, Grand forks North Dakota.

Christopher Ulivo was born in Brooklyn, NY and lives and works in Ventura, CA. His egg tempera paintings imagine the confluences and collisions of fate, myth, personal lineage and the unintended consequences of unlimited wish fulfillment. The resulting paintings are visually dense and darkly humorous. In the course of his career, he has both exhibited and organized shows across the United States and Europe including: Half Gallery Los Angeles; Susan Inglett Gallery, New York;  Axel Obiger, Berlin; Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara; The Felix Art Fair Los Angeles; The Armory Show, New York and The Benkai Museum, Athens.

Stephanie Washburn works in a range of media including drawing, collage, photography and video. Her projects explore materiality, the physical and natural world and the landscape genre in relationship to environmental crisis. Recent exhibitions include Taft Botanical Gardens, Ojai, CA; Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Santa Barbara CA; Beaconsfield, London, UK; Claremont University, Claremont, CA; ACME Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Wesleyan University, Middletown, CT;  Fellows of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA and Mark Moore Gallery, Los Angeles, CA. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, University of California, Agnes Gund and Frederick R. Weisman Foundations. Reviews include The Los Angeles Times, New American Paintings, Art Fag City and Vice. Her photographs have been published in Heliotrope, Harper's Magazine, and The LA Review of Books.
